What does Learning Center offer?

Learning center offers On-site Learning Pod, Math and English tutoring, and coding camps in small-group setting. We also offer HSPT/SAT/ACT prep.

Learning center accepts cash, checks payable to "Learning Center", credit cards, Zelle, Apple pay, Paypal and Venmo.​

What is On-site Learning Pod?

Learning center provides a safe and quiet place for students to take distance learning school classes. Supervision and assistance is provided by our qualified and experienced instructor. Students bring their own laptops, headphones, lunch and school supplies. Refrigerator and microwave are available for student use. Extended care with homework help is available after school session ends. If needed, we can provide laptops with wi-fi, headphones, school supplies, and snacks.

What are you doing for COVID readiness?

We are following all health order guidelines of Santa Clara county for the safety of all our students and teachers. Daily â€‹measures include hand sanitizing and temperature check on entry. Students, parents, and instructors are required to wear masks all the time. Desks are arranged to maintain social distancing. Desks and laptops are sanitized after every use. Each student is assigned their own supplies and space.

What is the group size or maximum capacity?

Due to Santa Clara county health guidelines we have significantly reduced capacity to enable social distancing. We have a stable group of maximum 8 students at any given time. No rotation. Same instructor every day.

Do you provide homework help and test prep?

Yes. Our full-day On-site Pod program and After-school program includes homework help and test prep.

Is there any sibling discount?

Yes. 5% discount for each additional sibling.

​

Are students allowed to use cell-phones?

No. Students are not allowed to use cell-phone during class or tutoring sessions. Cell-phones should be turned off or in silent mode. In an event of emergency, please contact the instructor directly.

What does my child need to bring?

Students need to bring their textbooks, lunch, and snacks. Students should know their login-id and password assigned by school for remote learning. Every student needs to bring a mask to enter the center. Students bring their own laptops and headphones. Our laptops and headphones are available if needed.

What happens when distance learning classes are for less time than school day? 

Students can work on their homework, read a book, or just rest. The students will be required to work quietly as other students can still be attending on-line school.

What happens when school has a holiday? 

School holidays are included in the monthly plan. Students can work on their homework, practice some math topics, work on improving reading/writing, â€‹and prepare for school tests. Coding camps are offered during week-long school holidays for an additional cost. If students don't attend during school holidays, there is no credit in the monthly plan. Weekly and daily rates apply if not paying monthly.

 

What does a typical day look like?

Students will be signed into Online Learning with School teachers. The schedule is flexible and will be adjusted to ensure students are online with classroom, school and teachers as needed individually.

  • 7:30 am to 9 am  - Temp Check/Hand washing/Check-in

  • 7:30 am to 2:30 pm - Students follow their school schedule

  • 2 pm to 3 pm - School Day students pick-up 

  • 2 pm to 5 pm - Free & relax time, homework help, test prep

  • 5 pm to 6 pm - Free time and pick-up

How does the tutoring sessions look like?

We offer individualized tutoring in a small group setting. Instructor helps each student individually with their homework while other students are doing their work.

Are you open on Saturday or Sunday?

We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

​

How long are the sessions?

Sessions are one hour long. If students are done early they can use our computers to play some math and logic games on, read books, or engage with our hands-on activities.

Do you assign homework?

Instructor will assign homework for practice

How many students in a class?

There can be 2-6 students at any given time.

​

Is there a sibling discount?

Yes. First child pays full amount. Each additional sibling gets 10% discount.

What if my child misses a tutoring session?

We do not offer credit or refund for any missed class. A make-up session is allowed within a month.

​

What if my child is running late for a tutoring session?

The last session starts at 6 pm. If you cannot come by 6 pm then you have to reschedule the session.

How much is tuition for tutoring?

  • $320/month for 2 sessions per week​

  • $450/month for 3 sessions per week​

Which coding languages do you teach?

  • Scratch (Beginner and Advanced)

  • Python (Beginner and Advanced)

How does the camp look like?

Students work on individualized projects in a small group setting under the guidance and support of the instructor. Students work on fun and challenging projects and games in increasing levels of challenge and difficulty. The instructor is proficient in Scratch, Python, and Java.

Do you follow any curriculum?

Yes. Projects and games are selected from kid-friendly books and software. Some projects are designed by the instructor. Students create, play, and learn at their own pace as they learn coding and problem solving.

​

Can students work on their personal projects?

Yes, students can choose to work on their personal projects. The instructor will try to help with the project. However, we cannot guarantee personal project completion.

​

How many students in a camp?

There can be 1 to 5 students at any given time each working on their assigned projects.

​

Is there a sibling discount?

Yes. Each sibling gets 10% discount.

What if my child misses a day during the camp?

We do not offer credit or refund for any missed days.
